On the afternoon of November 23, 2024, the Metropolis of Boston Philoptochos Board hosted a luncheon to launch their new cookbook, Around the Metropolis Table, dedicated to Metropolitan Methodios on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of his enthronement. The luncheon was attended by over 190 faithful from throughout New England. A lovely afternoon was organized at the Ithaki Restaurant in Peabody, MA. A very generous donation of $10,000 given to Operation Housewarming by George Safiol. The Chairs of Operation Housewarming and the President of the Philoptochos Board met with members of the VA Health Care System to identify their needs and where the funds would best be utilized. The $10,000 will be used to benefit our homeless veteran population residing in a Transitional Residential Program at three locations: Crescent House in Lowell MA, Domiciliary in Bedford MA, and the Transitional House in Boston MA. March 2021- Philoxenia House We want to share great news about The Philoxenia House. Under the guidance of His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios, renovations took place during the months of January and February 2021. Major improvements consisted of new electrical work, painting, updated personal bathrooms and the purchase of new blinds throughout the house.
